How Read&Write helps learners with dyslexia at Oldham College

Meet Hannah, a Level 3 learner at Oldham College recently diagnosed with dyslexia. With the support of Read&Write, her confidence, independence and writing have improved. She shared two pieces of work—one before using the tools and one after—and the difference is clear. Read&Write’s features help Hannah express herself more clearly, improve spelling and punctuation, and structure her ideas with ease. Using tools like CheckIt!, text-to-speech, predictive text, and voice typing, she can write the words she intends without worrying about spelling. Listening back to her work also helps her spot long or unclear sentences. She benefits from a pink screen background using the screen masking feature, which reduces visual stress and helps her stay focused. Through these supports, Hannah is now able to show her true understanding and make real progress in her learning.
